Here are some of the best night lights for toddlers you will find.
As the father of two small boys I completely understand the need to have night lights for toddlers. I clearly remember the scared voice of my oldest son the first time he told me there were trolls under his bed as we stood in his dark room at bed time. As you can probably guess the next day I was standing in line at Walmart waiting to buy our first night light. It was a cheap and generic little light but it worked at least for awhile. It didn’t take long though before my wife and I started looking for something better. After looking at what seemed like ever night light on the internet and reading every review along the way we finally narrowed it down to three lights, the Kinderglo Portable Fun and Safe Rechargeable Night Light, the Mobi Tykelight Glomate Plus and the Oxo Candela Tooli Rechargeable Lights Set of Two. We ended up buying two of the Mobi Glowmates, one for each boy. We love these lights and so do the boys but we would definitely purchase any of the lights mentioned above.
Best Night Lights for Toddlers
So you are probably wondering what makes these lights so great, so in the next few paragraphs I will explain some of the features that make each of these night lights worth buying. Let’s start with the Kinderglo Portable Night lights. First it comes in eight different shapes including two dinosaurs a T-Rex and Brontosaurus plus a quarter moon, a bear, a moose, an elephant, a hippo, and an angel giving you an excellent variety for you and your child to choose from. These lights are made from non-toxic BPA and lead free plastic that is soft to the touch but still durable. They never get hot to the touch and can be left in your child’s bed all night without worry. The soft glowing light can be set to two different setting one that changes colors from blue, red and green or can be set to just one of the three colors. All of the Kinderglo lights can also be set to stay on continuously or to shut off after thirty minutes.
The Mobi Tykelight Glowmate Plus is very much like the Kinderglo lights other than the Mobi has a lighted charging base that changes colors when the Glowmate is fully charged and it turns on when removed from the base or during power outages. Similar to the Kinderglo it can also be set to stay on constantly or, and this the difference in the two, it can be set to sleep mode which slowly dims the light over a fifteen minute period then turns off. One of the biggest advantages of the Mobi is that it stays charged longer than any of the other models which is one of the reasons we chose it for our kids.
Finally the Oxo brand of lights which come in two models the Oxo Candela 4101002 Blue and Green Tooli and the Oxo Candela Orange and Fuchsia Tooli Rechargeable Lights. These lights really have no advantages or disadvantages over the other two brands because they are basically the same thing other than the shape, and that they come as a set of two. The charger that comes with them will charge both units at the same time and they will hold charge for eight hours. Oxo not only recommends these for children but also has alternatives for candles that can be used indoors and out which seems like a really cool idea.
In conclusion these lights are extremely convenient, handy and a much better choice than a regular night light. And if you have a little one that has recently become scared of the dark or are expecting your first child and are just trying to prepare everything you will need in advance you should not hesitate to buy one of these great night lights for toddlers.
