Before we get started on the reviews of some of these lights there is one thing that should be mentioned. Most lighting whether LED, fluorescent or incandescent is not the brightest lighting in the world so if you plan on using these lights for a work light you may be disappointed but if you are just needing it for a small shed, closet or to light up a large garage or porch enough to move around in the dark without killing yourself you should be pleased. So now that the warnings are out of the way lets get down to business.

Wireless LED Motion Sensor Lights

The first review is on the SE Wireless Motion Sensor Light – 10 Super Bright LED. It is a small light only measuring 3”x 3”. It is equipped with an infrared sensor that detects both heat and movement reducing the number of false activations which help lengthen battery and bulb life. The sensor can detect motion up to 15’ in the front and 20’ to the side and shuts off thirty seconds after leaving the area. The ten LED bulbs are rated to last 100,000 hours and run off of three AA batteries (not included). Installation is very easy and is done with several screw mounting slots on the back side. Though it can be used outdoors it must be mounted where it is protected from the elements. For less than $10 this is a fairly good light as long as your expectations aren’t to high. The next light that we will discuss is the Sylvania 72178 Motion Activated Battery Powered Safety Light. This is the cheapest of the lights mentioned in this article as far a price goes but not necessarily in quality. Compared to the other lights it has the highest user rating and has great reviews, even one from a user in Alaska that used it outdoors. This Sylvania light has a rotating head  though it is very limited and has a detection range of 130 degrees up to 13 feet. One thing that make this light stand out is that it can be mounted in one of three ways, with two sided tape, a magnet or with screws all of which are included plus it can also function as an emergency flashlight. This unit measures 4.5”T x 2.5”W x 2”D runs of three AAA batteries that are included and has a 12 second shutoff for extended battery life.

Now if the first two lights didn’t sound like the light of your life then the Fulcrum Products Light-It 6 LED Porch Light with Motion Sensor just might be. First it is doesn’t have many of the negatives that the SE Wireless or the Sylvania 72178 has, like needing shelter from the elements, extremely dim lighting or a daylight sensor. The Fulcrum Light-It is designed to be whether proof, runs on four larger C batteries and has a built in photo cell that keeps it from turning on during the day which are all pluses when looking for a wireless light. The only downside for this light and some may not see it as so is the fact that it gives off a bluish tinted light comparable to the blue colored headlights on new cars. Other features that make this a good choice include that rotating design so you can pinpoint the exact location you are wanting lit, it has 100 degree range of detection to within 25 feet and a thirty second shutoff. The unit measures 5 ½ inches square and comes with all the mounting hardware necessary for installation.
